Hazelbrae Success at The Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards 2022

We’re thrilled to share that Tassie Seedlab Cultivators Christie McLeod and Michael Delphin of Hazelbrae Hazelnuts were recently crowned this year’s overall champions at the 2022 Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards Gala!

Hazelbrae was not only awarded the Richard Langdon trophy for Best Exhibit in show, but also took home the trophy for Best Tasmanian Exhibit; two of the three major awards announced on the night.

The Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards, run by The Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania since 1995, is the oldest fine food awards program in Australia. This year, products from 21 different categories were judged over 5 months of tasting.

“It was a real shock, an incredible honour, particularly given the incredible effort to engage such a high profile judging team this year. It’s a big commitment, and we are so humbled by their incredible feedback about our product”.

Launched in 2014, Hazelbrae’s hazelnut oil is the first to be grown in Australia – and the first 200 bottles sold out in a single weekend!

Christie and Michael are graduates of our 2021 Cultivate program, and have been taking Hazelbrae from strength to strength since. They’ve revamped their farm shop café and changed their thinking around core business principles.

We love following the success of our Cultivators – congratulations, Christie and Michael!
